Fulford Heath v Maxstoke Golf Club

Today was the 2009 return match against our very good friends from Maxstoke Park.

The away match was a win for Maxstoke though the return match evened the score for the year. The much feared tin of Pineapple will spend a cold winter in the Maxstoke trophy case. The final score was a win to Fulford Heath of 8 matches to 4.

Our vice Captain is well aware of the importance of not winning the tin of pineapple in 2010. For the uninitiated the loser  of the event wins the tin therefore the Captain of the losing team takes the tin back to his club until the next match. What we try to avoid is looking at the trophy case adorned with a 35 year old tin of pineapple.

Even so the spirit of the event is second to none. Much banter takes place and the camaraderie is very special
