Fulford Heath Golf Club Local Rules

  1. OUT OF BOUNDS (Rule 18)
    a) All boundary fences and hedges.
    b) All areas beyond the path from the half-way hut around the 18th green including the gardens and paved areas around the Clubhouse. Balls that come to rest on the path may be dropped on the green side of the path no nearer the hole or played as they lie.

    2. MOVEABLE OBSTRUCTIONS (Rules 12.2a and 15)
    a) Stones, rakes and other loose impediments in bunkers.
    b) Moveable posts defining such things as Penalty Areas, distance markers and buggy routes.
    c) Chain-link fencing.
    d) Wooden benches.
    e) Goose droppings.

    3. IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS (Rule 16)
    a) All wooden sheds on the course.
    b) Fixed sprinkler heads on valve box covers.
    c) Water fountains.
    d) Metal hole covers on putting greens.
    e) Young trees – defined by stakes.
    f) Striped posts defining bridges for buggy crossing.
    g) Anything else artificial including the artificial surfaces of paths, concrete block approaches to bridges, paved areas for wooden benches, inspection chambers and wooden edging around tee flower beds.

    4. PENALTY AREAS
    a) There are no Yellow Penalty areas on this course.
    b) Red Penalty Areas are marked by either red stakes or red lines. Where stakes and lines are used the stakes define the penalty area and the lines define the margin of the penalty area.
    c) In addition to 3(g), those bridges that are within the perimeter of a penalty area are part of the penalty area and free relief may not be taken for lie of ball under rule 16.

    5. FIXED SPRINKLER HEADS (ADDITIONAL RELIEF)
    In addition to relief under section 3(b) above, relief may be taken when a fixed sprinkler head, within 2 club lengths of the putting green, of the hole being played, intervenes on the line of play within 2 club lengths of the ball lying off the green and not in a penalty area. The ball may be lifted, cleaned and dropped at the nearest point to where it lay which is:
    a) not nearer the hole
    b) avoids the intervention and
    c) is not in a penalty area or on a putting green

    6. ABNORMAL COURSE CONDITIONS – PLAY PROHIBITED (Rule 16)
    a) Ground Under Repair areas defined by notice – player MUST take relief.
    b) Temporary greens – player MUST take relief.
    c) 16th hole – bank opposite teeing area, defined by white and green posts. Relief – under penalty of 1 stroke, drop ball in designated drop-zone.

    7. ABNORMAL COURSE CONDITIONS – TRACTOR RUTS (Rule 16)
    Free relief may be taken for tractor ruts (not faint impressions) that prevent normal play of the ball and agreed by opponent.

    PROCEDURE FOR SUSUPENSION OF PLAY
    Play is automatically suspended on the sound of a prolonged, SINGLE BLAST, of the klaxon. Players must mark their ball and RETURN TO THE CLUBHOUSE until advised. TWO BLASTS of the klaxon signal the end of play – players must RETURN TO THE CLUBHOUSE IMMEDIATELY as no further play is permitted.
